The standard of excellence continues.
Nine Sports Journalism Institute alums earned Top 10 honors in the Associated Press Sports Editors writing contest in February, reinforcing SJI’s legacy as one of the most impactful training grounds in sports media.
Leading the way was Shelby Swanson (Class of 2024) of The News & Observer, who captured three Top 10 honors. Kyle Goon (2010) of The Baltimore Banner and Noah Furtado (2023) of the San Francisco Chronicle each added two awards.
