SJI celebrates No. 25 in style

The celebration of the 25th Class of the Sports Journalism Institute reflected on the organization’s roots and celebrated its accomplishments at the National Association of Black Journalists Convention in New Orleans.

SJI started its program by hosting a workshop entitled “What Every Young Sports Journalist Should Know”, moderated by SJI co-Founder Leon Carter.

This event was followed by a reception to celebrate the historic class, which including a video tribute by alums to the program, an award of appreciation to alum Gregory Lee and long time supporter Garry Howard leading the group to recite Invictus. Board member David Squires was also in attendance at the event.
