Sierra Galanza

My name is Sierra Galanza and I am a recent graduate of the University of Tennessee School of Journalism and Electronic Media. While I’ve only been in media for four years, I like to think I’ve been a storyteller my entire life. I grew up in the San Francisco Bay Area and spent my college years in the heart of the South. The cultural differences in these two homes further proved to me that regardless of the things that set us apart, sports have a way of bringing us together. I hope to take my passion for sports journalism coupled with my time at SJI and improve my skills as a writer, reporter, and multimedia journalist. Prior to SJI, I was a sports clerk and reporter for the Knoxville News Sentinel, a sports anchor, and reporter for Tennessee’s student-produced show UT Today, an on-air personality for WUTK Rock Solid Sports Radio, and a sports intern for WVLT-TV Channel 8. After SJI, I will be interning at ESPN in Bristol, Connecticut as a Production Assistant.
