Helping women and minorities get into newsrooms since 1993

I’m Jadyn Watson-Fisher, and I graduated in May from the University of Oklahoma with a bachelor’s degree in journalism. During my time at OU, I was a softball and men’s basketball beat reporter, summer 2017 news managing editor and assistant sports editor. This summer I will be a digital optimization intern at USA Today in Nashville, Tenn. I am already fairly comfortable using social media, creating small videos and social graphics, and analyzing metrics. I have had the pleasure of covering the 2017 Women’s College World Series, the retirement of Oklahoma football coach Bob Stoops and five-star freshman basketball player Trae Young. Each of these opportunities dealt heavily with the conceptualization and implementation of various digital strategies. I hope to continue developing my digital and social media skills to use on a larger scale. I desire to learn new ways to help audiences engage with content.
